INGREDIENTS
1. Broccoli…obviously in order to make a broccoli smoothie, you will first need some broccoli, but if you are like George Bush and totally despise broccoli, feel free to substitute spinach for the broccoli instead.
You can broccoli in any way, form, or fashion—raw, leftover, steamed, or frozen… obviously the more broccoli you add, the more your smoothie will end up tasting like broccoli texture….so don’t add a bunch all at one time.
Broccoli… up to 3/4 cup
2. Other Leafy Greens…such as fresh spinach…1/2C
3. Fruits…Basically the fruits that you use in your smoothie will affect the antioxidant benefits of the smoothie…some fruits to consider adding are…
- banana
- cherries…1C
- grapefruit half
- mango…1C frozen chunks
- pineapple, 1-1/2C cubed
- strawberries…3/4C
4. Other Ingredients…
- avocado…1 medium
- cacao or carob powder…1Tbsp
- flax seed…1Tbsp ground
- hemp seeds
- honey or maple syrup…1Tbsp
- peanut butter…1/2 tablespoon
