July is National Ice Cream Month...and today is National Ice Cream Day….what a wonderful reason to celebrate.
But living in Texas, there are two brand-name products that we all are pretty loyal to…Dr. Pepper and Blue Bell.
So instead of posting an ice cream recipe in honor of the day, I have decided to post a recipe for Ice Cream Bread.
Ice Cream Bread is a two (or four)-ingredient bread made from any flavor melted Ice cream and self-rising flour that takes a whopping three minutes to prepare—long enough for the ice cream to melt.
The ice cream adds slight sweetness, density, and flavor.
This is actually a bread, not a cake…The bread can be eaten with your hands…no fork required.
Ice Cream Bread
1 pint melted ice cream
1-1/4C self rising flour (or 1tsp baking powder, 1/4tsp salt, 3/4C flour)
1. Prep…Preheat oven to 350˚F. Line a 8″ loaf pan with parchment paper. Grease with a nonstick spray.
2. Make the batter…Combine melted ice cream, baking powder, salt, and flour. Mix until well combined.
3. Bake the bread…Pour batter into the loaf pan. Spread evenly. Bake forty minutes. Let cool fully before cutting.
