Homemade Granola Bars

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar 
  • 1/2 cup sugar 
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2Tbsp honey or corn syrup 
  • 1/2tsp vanilla 
  • 1 egg 
  • 1 cup flour 
  • 1tsp cinnamon 
  • 1/2tsp baking soda 
  • 1/4tsp salt 
  • 1 1/2 cups quick oats
  • 1 1/4 cups crispy rice cereal, crushed corn flakes, or crushed graham crackers
  •  1/2 cup wheat germ
  • Any of the following…1/2-1C chocolate chips, coconut, peanut butter, nuts, raisins, dried apples, apricots, fruit preserves

Cream sugars and butter until fluffy. Add remaining ingredients. Press firmly into the bottom of a greased 9×13 pan. Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes.
